Thanks Burke, yeah, I have regretted selling alot of my old cool cars and trucks, my 74 Monte is the only one I truly regret. I know I'll have something else sometime, I always do :) This truck I am tired of because I had so many problems with it. Although it is cool looking! ! Hitting the road!

hmmm well, I never got to taking many pics, it was HOT and by the time I got there I was just ready to sit and relax, I showed everyone the trailer as they showed up and had a couple of good conversations. It was good until I tried to start the truck and I heard a blip and then started smelling burning wire. I can still smell it yuk. I think the starter solenoid shorted out on me. I popped the hood and tapped on it, then the truck started fine and the wire cooled down. I was pretty mad though because this truck is forever breaking down on me.

I made it home fine though and it towed like a dream I think I felt it back there once the whole time. I have manual brakes too and I couldn't even feel it back there when I stopped. Very nice.

Understandable. I know the feeling... but when you say, "many" are there any pics you can post at all? One? :baby:

I would have liked to have heard their comments. You must be very proud. That is an outstanding teardrop.

Keep that in the front of your mind when you sell it. It'll make it easier...

Awesome! It will be nice, then, behind the Lincoln...

LOL, OK Here are my great pics (NOT)...

It was a shed party also, here is my friend's shed he just finished:

Image

And his son exploring the interior, I just realized that no one got in it. Strange, maybe it seemed too personal? Like climbing into someone elses bed maybe? I dunno. but the kids weren't shy about it!

Image

His son checking out the door. I haven't trimmed that door handle yet, I don't do anything until the job is being done. I haven't finalized where the door striker is going to be yet.
Image

Told ya they weren't anything special, it wasn't a gathering or anything. I can't remember any of the comments, but just the usual "awesome" and "cool" haha which is just fine by me! I was having a good time myself ;)

I realized that I hadn't gotten in it since I put the bed in! I was scrambling all day yesterday getting a bunch of stuff done and it was so hot, I never did it, so this morning while it was still cool, I went out and laid down for about 30 min and it is so comfy now, and with the curtains too, it is warm feeling on the inside now!

Hehe, I am a bass player and Maiden was my biggest influence. My sister gave me this blanket and I love the texture of the fabric and the fringes, the dark colors and greenish yellows are good too. It will be replaced with something made similarly but with a design more fitting a 1940's teardrop!

Oh Chris, I remembered one comment from my friend about the hinges... :duh "You know the bad thing about those hinges...". He didn't even have to tell, me I hope I don't have to get locks on these things just to get people to be quiet about it.

So I found the breaker that kills the security light in my driveway and I pulled the King out in to the driveway and it was surprisingly dark! I cranked up the AC and it was ice cold within moments. I hung around for an hour or so looking at stars, drinking a few cold ones and taking pictures! I found a cool old back rest type thing that I got from my grandmother, I wonder what these are called... but it fits perfectly and also gently guides my feet away from covering up the AC when I sleep :)

That, actually, IS a great pic! Love the color of the twilight sky... and that shed! That shed is 100% bitchin!

How's that saying go? "To be child-like, not childish..." A teadrop exemplifies my childhood dreams of the ultimate "fort", and, as an "adult", we get to add the "wheels". Or whatever... I think you know what I mean... or none of us would be here!

But they're just what I thought they'd be: pics of your teardrop's first trip!

(and I liked the idea of a "shed party"... I wanted to see what that was about. I am not disappointed!)

I'm sure you were. I realize now that not everyone will be as bowled over as someone like myself who's itching to build a teardrop... just the same I know that your tear will continue to garner mucho attention.

Thanks, Thomas, for taking the time to continue to update all of us. We share your enthusiasm.

Very, very nice...

Your cool old back propper is called a "husband"
We used to use them in college a lot. I wish I knew more about that shed. It is gorgeous! You would hate to junk that up with storage.

Hey Mama, Thank you so much for the name although I am not sure I am comfortable with that haha!

My buddy said he did research on it and did the plans on it for a year before building it, so I think it is all his own design, but I hear ya, I keep telling to stop calling it the Shed! He has a sliding door on the back that covers half the building which opens up to a drawbridge kind of door that lowers down via cable because it is so heavy. It is a ramp that he drives the riding lawn mower into the shed with.

Hi Norm,

I just got the generic mass produced tail lights from Wally W, which I still think look cool, and You use the rubber gasket as a template to mark where the hold will be cut, I can't remember which diameter but when you see it you will know. I actually scratched my head for a while wondering how to do it until I realized that the actual unit WAS the template haha.. So I traced it on some card stock paper and cut it out, then measured out between the framing where they should got and marked it, then drilled pilot holes and cut it out with a jig saw same as any other hole.

If you are using an aluminum skin, when you are doing this be really careful with those aluminum slivers that will be lying around, I flipped my hatch over and moved it around and even though it was sitting on a doubled over blanket, I SCRATCHED the hatch in three different places. ARGH... I hated that, but have to live with it now. at least the hatch will almost always be up when I am camping...
