To vintage Coleman stuff. What do they put in that stuff? I'm am once again innocently working on the Zollinger getting ready for the Midwest Vintage Trailer Rally and...along comes

A 228C in excellent condition. I have been kinda trying to keep my eye out for one of those big hat lanterns. We have a friend that is kinda a junk collector and he brings us all kinda Coleman stuff he finds. Last week it was another lantern and a Coleman oven. A year ago it was a Coleman convertable cooler. Anywhoo he brings this lantern and asks if I can show him how to fire it up. My heart kinda skipped a beat when I got a good look at it and saw it was made April of 1946. An hour later, new generator, mantles, fuel cap and fresh fuel it fired up. I think he kinda decided that it was not for him and he sold it to me for $10. Thanks Ed.
Here is some of the stuff family and friends have dropped of this summer.

I think I am gonna have to build a teardrop to tow behind the Zollinger for all my vintage Coleman stuff.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery...

Of course, I prefer to skip steps 2-12 and live with my addictions...

looks like you've got some good family and friends...

I love those diamond coolers....need one for the new trailer, but I'd only ruin it with a bright teal color!....I'm keeping my eyes peeled. Great finds you guys! I'm bad as well, I got 9 lanterns sitting in the garage to do, 6 are for a special event. We are all just caretakers of the Coleman past....nothing wrong with that! A vintage lantern just makes it all seem right when camping. Doug

How would one go about restoring one of those older coolers? I have one that is in fair shape but has some cracked plastic on the inside and out. Iw as thinking if I could remove the original plastic pieces and replace them with new, it would be a great cooler.

Hi, I have one of the Coleman upright coolers and the builder of our trailer removed the steel bars from the top and attached them to the bottom so that they could be bracketed in the galley. Very clever way to do this.
Do they still make the white gas stoves?
best, Tim

If the "Vintage Coleman Equipment" is the only "vice or addiction" you have then I say let if go. There are much worse things to be addicted to!!!!!! Besides, the Coleman stuff actually has a purpose!!

I have a 220C (1949) with a chrome tank and the 1951 200 with a chrome tank. Both still work and are in good condition with a few dings. I love them and they are good conversation pieces.

They were birthday presents from myself to myself!!!

Keep on collecting  :) :)

Dawn:
I think you need therapy for your addiction. The next time we're all together, we can sit in a circle and have a session. (for collecting ideas and showing off our prize Colemans).
Nice addition to your collection.
