Glue help Please

...a tip for gorilla glue clean up....wet a rag with paint thinner, varsol or other solvent and about 10/15 min after glue up and when the foaming has about finished, wipe the area. The foam hasn't hardened yet and cleans up easily

...why with the same solvent rag of course if you wait until it is dry you will just have to wear it(off)

For joining disimilar material Gorilla is a good choice...if you use Gorilla be sure to read the directions to get proper adhesion(dampen one side of glue surface)...Now others may fire their shots at will.....(duck Will duck)

Acetone....or lacquer thinner...or just let it wear off....3-4 days will do, and use lots of hand lotion that'll help......gotta catch it within an hour or so....Doug

Shop tip!!! Spend 10 bucks and get a box of 5 quazillion latex gloves. No glue to your skin, minimal solvent penetration unless you are someone who just likes that....and you can always blow them up as balloons for the next "over 50 party."

I didn't like the Elmers wood glue. I put it on thick (no thicker than I did the Titebond) and it bled thru my luan. Luckily that spot is hidden with my cabinets.

In kindergarten class, my teacher taught us how to make glue out of flour and water--and I've been going with that ever since.

She also called it "paste," and you wouldn't believe how DELICIOUS it is!

Correct, guys. Yes, things do taste better this way.

Don't want to stray off-topic (too late, but I guess if there's a subject we can stray from a little, it's glue), but last night I saw "Sideways" on HBO.

Now if that movie was about two guys roaming the countryside discussing and tasting BEER, it would have been perfect.

Before I do any gluing or painting (if I remember), I apply a hand cream to keep it from grabbing onto my skin to tightly... and I bought a pack of 100 x-large gloves from harbor freight.... those gloves have proved extremely helpful, especially when working with 'magnetic' epoxy coatings, which tend to jump 3-4 inches to get on my hands..... very nice to just pull off the gloves and have clean hands.... beats scraping the stuff of with a knife.

Speaking of epoxy coatings, I've found tipping the coating (after applying with a 1/4" nap roller) with a foam brush, not bristle brush, results in a very smooth application.

Only one down side to gloves, my hands sweat and sweat can actually drip out of the gloves and onto the work surface... once in a while, I just stick my my arm up in the air and let the sweat drip off......
