Thanks Mike I wanted to glass one of my rocket body tubes but wasn't shure how it was done without collapsing the tube. I haven't seen that page before.
It should be noted that most of the commercially available materials can be substituted with hardware store items.
Some people may be asking, "why don't you glue it up then put weights on it?" Bagging achieves the same thing but it applies an even pressure on the entire surface. It will "only" put 14.7psi on the part but on a 4X8 sheet of ply, that would equal to almost 34 tons of weight!
That's a great site! Good info and lots more potential projects.
I have just become interested in teardrops as an aside from motercycles. The trouble with bikes is parts and insuance cost. ($1000 a year)
For the same kind of investment I can play around with teardrops. Build in winter, camp in summer. It makes more scense with small children too. Oh did I mention I own an airplane that I restored and now don't have time to fly! Too many interest.... not enough time and money... Oh well.
Oh No!! Did I tell y'all how easily I am attracted to new, creative outlets?
THANKS GEORGE!!! This is how I got into wooden boats, and now, teardrop trailers. Who knows? I've always wanted to build a trike car using a bike rear section, small car front. Hmmmm... :!: Do ya think I coud build a trike car with a tiny trailer to match??? Oh No!!!
Hey George,
That triggered an old memory.
When I was growing up, a neighbor had one of those.
I'm pretty sure that his was called a Morgan.
Have you heard of one of those?
(Halfhiemers might be kickin' in)
