Roof and headliner questions

Alright, we got the windows and door question taken care of, now I would like recommendations on readily found bendable ply for the headliner and roof. Any ideas. Thanks

1/8 Birch works great. Or Maple, Red Oak, etc., etc., etc. You don't have to buy "bendy" plywood to do your liner.

1/8" plywood works even better if you rotate it 90 degrees so the grain runs across the teardrop.

I used 1/8 luan. I used it like Mike said and I was able to bend it enough to put thru the door easily.

I'm using 1/8 Baltic Birch (it's actually 5.2 mm or something close to that). It's availible in 5' x 5' sheets, so there is little waste if you are building a tear that's wider than 4', and seems to bend very easy.

I actually used beaded board tongue and grove. 4 ft. wide put spars in and slide it in from the front and started at the cabinets and came forward with it..Just my experience..First time builder..

Is this stuff flexible enough for you?

I used 1/8" Bending Birch from Boulter Plywood in Sommerville, Mass. That stuff is so flexible it's amazing. It's probably overkill for the headliner in the cabin. It was a Godsend for skinning my galley hatch. I had no springback problems whatsoever.

I also used their Wacky Wood, a 3/8" 2-ply flexible luan for my exterior roof skins.

Toms is the birch made the same way as wacky 3/8??Might be worth checking out for next tear....
