Quarter Inch Channel

Any one know where I can get 1/4 channel 58 in. long to screw onto the bottem of my hatch so I can use it with 13 foot long canvas with a rope sewn in one end to use as a shade roof when hatch is open.

Most r/v parts stores will have or can get the molding you are looking for. Seems to be a common part so it should be pretty easy to find.

Are you looking for just a plain straight sided channel or something like a track channel that you can slide the canvas into? Here's a small channel used in a bifold door. There's a lot of variations depending on what it's used for...like track lighting, curtain trolleys, etc...

Its called "awning rail" be careful there are 2 kinds. 1/4 and 3/8". You would probably do better going to a local RV dealer. (Save shipping/min order etc.) I know we always have pieces about that size that are scrap.

All A&E window & slidetopper awnings come with awning rail and about 80 percent of all coaches come with rail and don't need the supplied rail.

So don't let them gouge ya. This stuff is as common as dirt.

All that I can find here is made out of plastic
and i'm looking for aluminum or SST and yes to slide the canvas canvas. (tryed two RV plaplaces here)

...bought mine from Brunner Enterprises, they will cut it down to an 8 and 4 foot piece so it can be shipped UPS...For anyone who doesn't know, a cord is sewn into the canvas to slide into the channe

Say Bill, do they have any RV repair shops down there in Simi? If they don't have the rail in stock, they should be able to order it for you out of thier catalog (at no extra cost). It's something that is on all RV's and Travel Trailers. Camping World in Santa Clarita should have it. You might give them a call, ask for Awning Rail.

Here is a site with RV supplies, lots of different kinds of trim etc. It might help if only to know what they are calling the various moldings.
