Anyone ever use a double wishbone?

Postby TD Beej » Sat Sep 19, 2009 1:34 am

I was just wondering if anyone has used double wishbone or any of its subclasses (multilink, double a-arm,...) for tear.

Thanks,

Somewhere someone has given it a go. The problem is with the upper arm, link, panhard rod, etc. It encroaches into the cabin area.

Yes, taking more space is a problem, but I have a plan. I will need to get the actual suspension to know how much space I will need for it but on my drawing I am working with 9" of ground clearance and 12" working/storage space beneath the bed deck. I am hoping to find a suspension with a coil-over that is attached to the control arms so I don't also have to deal with space and mounting point issues for the springs and shocks as well (It wold be nice to find something very self contained).
