there is just too much info here to digest. i have completed a Cubby on the Harbor Freight frame, and now wish to build a woody on a custom frame. Cabin size is going to be 5 ft wide x 9 ft long. Anyone like to tell me how long tongue should be from front of Cabin to ball, and how far forward from rear of frame to center axle. Basing this trailer on the Generic Benroy, building frame walls with minimal weight (est 800lbs.) Hoping to get started as soon as I can figure out what to tell welder. Thanks in advance.

Well, without knowing the exact details, I can only refer you to the frame I had built for the weekender. The weekender frame was 5' wide, just like what you are planning.

As such, you might end up with a 4' tongue... but adjust to suit your specific build details.

I have a 5'x 10, flat bed trailer with a 4' tongue and it does very well with a 1000 to 1500 load.
