Fuse Size ?

Anybody know what size fuse to use in the 12 volt charging circuit of the WFCO 8725 3 stage converter?

I use a 30 amp inline fuse. It is placed close to the Battery and is a 8ga wire. I used 8 ga from the WFCO to the fuse then on to the Battery. Does not get warm when charging and has never blown the fuse.

Thanks for your reply but I was wondering more about the fuse that is in the converter itself.

OK. I will take a look when I get home, but I know I am using 2 - 20 amp breakers and on the spade fuses I will look later and let you know. I have never had any trouble blowing a fuse except when making the connection to the shore power, if I do not get a good connection as I am plugging it in sometimes it will trip the top fuse. I am using the spade thermal breakers in those and have not had any problems.

I use a 30A fuse inside the WFCO 8725 converter for battery charging. A #10 wire can carry 30A and in my opinion that size wire is large enough, although I did double up on the #10 wires in a very few places. Unlike a battery that needs to start an engine, a trailer battery does not have to support a large cranking amp load. Deep cycle capability is more to be desired.

When I got home today I decided to look at the WFCO converter one more time. After reading the small print on a sticker inside the converter it states 25 amp max fuse on DC circuits 1 thru 4, and 30 amp max fuse on reverse polarity protection. I will probably use a 20 amp fuse on the battery charging circuit and size the other fuses as needed for their circuits. I would rather blow a fuse than melt wires. Thanks for your replies everyone.
