Postby norm's tear drop » Wed Sep 23, 2009 9:14 pm

Worked on these on and off this week. When it rained i built cabinet faces in side , On nice days i drug her out side to work on hatch , When hatch build got to stressful i would go back to cabinets. When waiting for cabinets to dry and stuff i would work on hatch for a while .. Here are the results . Image

:applause: Looking good Norm,

I like your idea of moving to something else when the stress builds, especially since the hatch is one of my next projects.

You don't bend the wood to the radius of the hatch. Just cut it out of plywood to the radius of your profile. The Benroy plans should have a detailed way of doing it.
I personally just took some paper and taped it up to the opening of the hatch on my profile and traced it. It gave me the exact curve I needed for the hatch opening. I cut out 5 ribs to that template.

By the way Norm your teardrop is coming along nicely. Keep at it and you will be camping in no time

Your cabinets look very well laid out and I like the depth that it has with the shelf on top and the space available underneath, it looks great and your hatch looks all put together too! !!
