Help and Food

Postby Tiny Tow » Thu Sep 24, 2009 10:05 pm

There will be 3 or 4 of us there on Thursday and we can help pay and work. This is new to us, so just tell us what to do! See you there!

Hey Robin and StacyJay ... several will be there on Thursday , and don't worry about anything.... teardroppers are great camping friends!!

T-shirts have fallen thru... I checked getting them done here, but don't have a way to pay for them ahead and time constraints now . If something does come thru soon, then you'll just pay at the campout.

Bring a bottle of wine from your home state or your favorite if you'd like to join in the after dinner Saturday night wine tasting (wine sharing and drinking!) and put on your dancing shoes! '

See ya !
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

That helps a lot! I was reading about the wine tasting and didn't know how the "wine" just got there! So we will definitely bring ours. Any other tips greatly appreciated. Still don't know the ins and outs of cooking or bringing refrigerated things, etc. Anyone bringing paper goods?????? HA!

The most important thing to bring is yourself! Saturday breakfast is served by the Rayvillians ... but juice / fruit is appreciated. I will be bringing paper plates / forks / napkins / cups for that breakfast ... but everyone usually brings their own for the potlucks. Cant wait to meet all our new campers and, of course, see all our old friends ... even those we just saw at Crawford. :applause: Trudy

paper

Postby doitright » Fri Sep 25, 2009 12:20 pm

I thought paper products are just like you chair. Moving from site to site you take your own seat. So going to a pot luck you bring what you are going to eat on, flatware, plate, drinking cup, and for sure a small pot of something for all to enjoy . I thought this was the proper way.
But this brings another problem I will have to make a trailer for my bike to get from place to place.

Yes, the proper procedure for Pot Luck is to bring one dish of food to share, and whatever you plan to eat off of plus utensils, and something to sit upon.

BTW, at LCG, the park staff usually joins us for the Pot Luck, and we still have more food than we can eat. So, bring a big appetite, too.

Reminder: If you bring any kind of motorized scooter, you MUST have some kind of helmet. The rangers at the park are pretty strict about that.

They don't check for DOT certification, but you do have to have some kind of lid, or they will gripe at you.

...AND DON'T FORGET TABLES... ...anyone with an extra table or two. it would be appreciated if you can bring any spare tables you have...there will be a ton o' food to be laid out and it all needs something to sit upon...since I'll be cookin' Cajun for everyone Friday nite and that cookin' will take all day, anyone who wishes to help, can come on by and help chop veggies and peel shrimp(if you have never peeled raw shrimp, I'll show you how)...not too mention, have a cold one or two..................

Table

Postby doitright » Fri Sep 25, 2009 6:28 pm

I have two SS tables about 18" X 3' I will bring them. I use them for food prep. They also have a 3/4" lip around three sides and a full shelf. They will work great for hot pots with no worry about them getting burnt or sagging with lots of CI. Weight is not problem going to bring the big truck and it will use same amount of gas loaded or empty so I might as well load it up. Can we bring firewood out of state?

OK folks – time is drawing closer to LCG IV and many preparations are being made – even as I post, a world renowned artist and current resident teardropper is working on a vital project - name tags. If you are attending LCG IV - and you know who you are - then to help em' out this is what we need:

Your Screen name
First Name of each person in your group as you would like it to appear
Your City
Your State

Please PM me with your Info

Thanks for your Kind assistance
