Coleman 425E stove

Found a 425E in a Thrift store today for $25.00. The paint was in near perfect condition and no dents. The only problem was the fuel tank was missing. What are these worth and about how old are they.

Made in 1967 and 70. Too bad they dumped the tank on it. Some thrift stores do that for insurance reasons....no fuel containers. I'd shop some garage sales and find a beater and get the tank off it, but it's gotta be a 425 tank, any year would work. Doug

I may have to go back and if it's still there ask if they have tank. $25.00 seems high, seen one on e-bay new with original box asking $40.00.

...my thought is, without a tank the stove is worthless...good only for a paper weight...see if they have tank...if so the price is OK...if not offer them 5 bux and walk off if they say no...............

I have one that I just changed it to propane. It dose not work as well but just fine. You can buy one at Wal-mart and a hose to use large tanks.

Found this in an old shed. Took a couple of hours to halfway restore and light. Seems to work fine.

I agree with Madjack. There are way to many stoves out there to start off with one that needs a tank. I pay 5-20 for good stoves that are complete.
