Hmmm.. I think we're on a roll... when are you allowed to build again? Jan 1st?

Since there seems to a some interest in this design, I think I'll turn it into a solid model today...

But before I get too far I'd better check the tongue weight...

That looks okay!

That's funny. After seeing the Alto thread, I started messing with the Cabin Car design towards the same end.

No where near as much thought as you've put into yours.

I just did another rendering... now the Alto WW is painted silver...

I also added a couple storage access doors under the bed, one on each side.

I have some other stuff to do now... hopefully I can get back to the renderings this evening...

What's that 1600 pounds in the spreadsheet, 1000 trailer and 600 stuff?
I need a new Avatar. I'd put my dog up there but she doesn't look much like me. She's the skinny one.

Obviously my dream of a 1000# trailer is a pipe dream. The alto, optimized to be as light as possible, was 1600#. So I'm just trying to be reasonable...

If the trailer, dry, is 1600#, and I have a towing capacity of 2400# on the tow vehicle, maybe we can split the difference, and add 400# of shtuff...!!!

Mike...

P.s. I didn't really optimize the chassis yet... but here's a screenshot of the mess I have right now...

I can get it under 1000 lbs. do the hatch in Foam and fiberglass - Windows in the Hatch polycarbonate - 5mm luan exterior - 3/4 foam insulation - 1/4 paneling interior. Of course minumal interor stuff, but would be functional. (come on Jan1)

Sounds like a plan Scott...

How can we speed up Jan 1st? Would a bribe work? :o

Mike...

P.S. What CAD system do you use... I can email you the solid model...

Here's a shot with the back wall folded down, before the hatch is lowered...

Mike...

P.S. there is a slight design question... what to do with those triangle pieces... any ideas Scott? Gary? Jim?

Here's a shot with the side removed, so you can see what's going on inside...
