It's 78" wide, outside to outside. Yes the bed could go crosswise... but I opted to leave it lengthwise, so I don't have to crawl over Chell!


Do what I do, Lydia sleeps in the back, she crawls over me. It encourages her to use the Porta-pottie before we go to bed. Save 2' and some weight.

How about a big crank out window in the rear panel? Glaze it in Plexi. No weight penalty and safer than standard glass.

:) Nothing wrong with old fashioned. We trade who gets the back.

This is neat looking. I did wonder if the front is gonna hit the tongue box. :thinking:

I'm very interested to see how this design plays out - maybe build #3.

I know this thing is in the conceptual stage, but what type of hinge would be used?

I sent Gary a 12' version of the Alto WW to play with. When I have some time I'll export it out and put it on the forum for you guys to play with. Maybe make some new renderings of that too.

Auntie M,

Me on the outside works fine. I get up early everyday except for when I'm going to have visitors. I slept later Sunday than I have in years and it was the day Mike and Chell were coming over to visit. (Sorry Mike) I didn't have any coffee and was probably less than coherent. It was a good visit anyway. Happy to have met the founder.

OK Mike, waiting for the frame drawing, you know that's what I'm into now. Your renderings show a 16'. 2x2 might be a little wimpy. Let's work on it.

Mike I got down to a 11 foot model - 78 inches wide ( my standard dimensions to fit snugly in the garage) I did get it to scale down from the 4000 inches to something just a little bit less 8). it would take a bit of ingenuity - but the hinge on the front could be hidden under a ledge so that water runoff would just drip over the edge and never make it to the hinge joint. The sides could be sealed like the "lady Bug" :thinking:

I'm in the same boat. #1 in progress, #2 was going to be a standy at the request of the CFO, but maybe it will be this.

I've already submitted my requisition to the CFO for tow vehicle that can handle higher than 1500# limit that #2 will need.
