During a recent password audit, it was discovered that an employee of mine was using the following password....

When asked why such a BIG password, she said that I said it had to be at least 8 characters.... :-)

Okay, I groaned out loud on that one.

I'll pass this along fwiw... I use a simple base password, but for banks and other private stuff, I use the basic password and append the initials of the specific institution, so every password is different, but easy to recall.

for instance. if the base p/w is abcdef and I have an account with national bank, the password would be abcdefNB... so they are all different, but easy to remember. That way, if one p/w is compromised by some bank stupe losing his laptop, only one account gets messed up.
