Well, since my pot of BBQ beans went so fast last year, I guess I'll whip up another for this one.

stew

Postby doitright » Sun Oct 04, 2009 11:47 am

Nancy (my wife) wants to make a pea stew with 3 or 4 types of peas. With lots of meaty ham hocks. It and beer bread is all I need. It will be cooked slow and long for a good heavy broth and very tender meat. Two pots of beer bread to sop up all the broth. If it looks as if we are lacking on deserts I will throw together a spice cake blackberry (fresh and hand picked by my wife) or a peach (caned) cobbler what ever all would like. Greens may be ready and maybe a garbage bag of them boiled in a 15 gal pot. I have a couple jars of pepper sauce. Tell me what you would like and I will try to get it together.

food

Postby doitright » Sun Oct 04, 2009 3:19 pm

Ham hock, greens is all I have to buy have the rest at home just ready for cooking. I will bring what I have left over from Boy Scout fall camporee.
I love to cook it may not be fancy but I will have enough for lots of people.
When I cook out at campgrounds people always come by to see the black pots cooking so I always cook more than I need. I hate to turn people away. Kevin
