Newbie checking in from the Pacific NorthWest

Hello all. We are planning a tear drop build and have all the usual concerns of someone who has never built one before. We are pretty excited and the tear drop community looks like a really friendly group willing to welcome newcomers.
Probably our worst fears are water intrusion, living up here it rains more than quite a bit and we will be looking for any and all advice on that subject. We are looking forward to meeting some new friends, getting out of the tent and into a tear drop.

Howdy from the Apple Capital of the World. I'm sorry to say the worst water problem that I have had came from the plumbing in my teardrop. So what are you planning on doing?

We really apprieciate the welcome. Thanks much. We have not decided on a model yet. Everytime we find one that we think is perfect, we see anther one and think thats one great also.
What we have decided is 5 ft wide, 10 long, and from what I have read one this site about various types of axels, we are going with the 2500 lb, leaf spring type, because we will be off road quite a bit. Not trying to tear things up, but we do go back on logging roads, and off road camping a lot, all rough roads.
Exterior material, another unknown, I really like the look of "woody" sides and alum roof. But again mosture, water leaking, and just over all maintenance up where we live might just be too much. Maybe something like TPO, Fiberglass pannels. Not sure how much Stainless would cost to do the whole thing, but it would be low maintenace.
So anyways, more questions than answers at this point. Any advice or opinions is welcome.

Questions are always good. I know that I am pushing my suspension a little when I go up some of the roads that I do. Keep looking at the trailers. There have been a few recent builds with some serious off road design.

How I avoid my moisture issue is that I garage it from October to May over at the Waterville fairgrounds for $150. Yes, I can't go winter camping however it is kept out from the bad weather.
