A couple of vintage pieces for the new build....

While up at the Casini Ranch Vintage Trailer Rally, on Sat. while the trailers were open for viewing, a small flea market also took place. Marti had these, a nice 60's vintage cooler and jug, Thermos brand. Inside plastic is all intact, no breaks in the plastic on the exterior. I'm thinking...a repaint, just mask off the decal and redo the teal and the white. I'll fake a Coleman like diamond in the top. 13$ total in both. Nice to find them with solid liners and lids. Basically what happened is that a whole lot of trailer people traded their old stuff to other trailer people. Cast iron, Coleman stoves, coolers, all sorts of decorations and camping equipment were sold. It was a great time, and plenty of tours were given. Doug

Very cool. I take it that's an original color for those? I don't remember that, though that equipment might be more vintage than I am.

I looked at a couple of water jugs in my travels this week, but it's hard to find them in good usable condition.

P.S. Does California still allow you to have all those totally useful chemicals just sitting around like that? I'm waiting for California to outlaw all my favorite stuff like acetone.

Doug, before you paint the white plastic, try scrubbing it with Softscrub with bleach. I used it on my Coleman Cooler and it turned the plastic white again.

I'd be lost without a 5 gallon can of lacquer thinner....I can still buy stuff, but it's getting tougher what with all the meth labs cooking. I always have a number of solvents around. Doug

Very nice!! :applause: Although...I don't think I would paint think. I think they look great in the blue. There's lots of Coleman green around but the blue stands out. Even though they're not Coleman brand they still look awesome for their age. Any dings that are in them give them character. I say if it ain't broke don't fix it.. Just my 2 cents.
