Today, Monday, 12 October 2009 is Thanksgiving Day in Canada. :applause:
Do you guys celebrate Thanksgiving Day with the "Turkey pigout feast" the same as the U.S?

Thanks. and yes we do! I have been deep frying my turkey for the past few years now, and I am thankful to be able to enjoy and share with great friends and family who also contribute to the feast and wow it was a good one this year. hope all had just as good of a thanksgiving as I.

Doesn't frying turkey for that long make it kinda dry?

my favorite way to celebrate thanksgiving day in canada is by sitting anchored on the red river someplace near the old fort garry jigging for monster greenbacks.... 8)

I live about 40km away from Lockport and have fished there often . A friend sent me this last week . You never know if these pictures are real or not but several large sturgeon (350+lbs) have been pulled out of Manitoba rivers and lakes over the years . I only ever saw one once in the water . It looked prehistoric and I didn't go swimming that day . ..... D.J.

This is a fish that swims in Lake Winnipeg by Winnipeg Beach and other areas of Lake Winnipeg. They are large and plentiful and I do not wish to meet anyone of them while I am swimming. This fish was caught at Lockport Manitoba a fifteen minute drive north of Winnipeg.

This is a darn interesting picture and story even if you aren't into
fishing, but please show it to anyone you know that likes to fish.

This sturgeon is still alive, just worn out from the fight. They
turned him loose after the photo.

> This Sturgeon was caught on the Red River just below locks at
Lockport Manitoba two weeks ago. It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and
measured out at 11 ft.1 in. It was 56 in. around the girth and took over 6 and a
half hours, and 4 dozen beers, for the 4 guys taking turns at the reeling it
in.

cannot be removed from the water.
