Hello everyone

Hi. My name is Dave and my wife is Alma. We live a few miles north of Pittsburgh PA and I'm getting ready to start the build on my teardrop.

I purchased the plans for the 8' Cuddy from Kuffel Creek. The trailer and floor however, will be more in line with the plans from Desert Teardrop Trailers.

I bought a 5' wide welded trailer from Vintec Sales and Manufacturing in Portage MI

We have a pontoon boat named the Looney Toon. We love to camp and decided we needed a Looney Bin for short stays in the campground on the lake where we keep the boat. We prefer to tent camp and that's fine when camping for several nights or longer. However, it's a pain in the neck for just a night or two. The teardrop is the perfect "tent" for those one or two night weekend stays where the tent is more trouble than it's worth.

Besides, I need a winter project to help me avoid those long winter nights in front of the TV watching Wheel of Fortune, etc. I'm not an outdoor winter person. The build should keep me occupied.

I've already learned a lot from lurking around for the last few months but I'm sure I'll have a million questions. It's nice to know there will be someone to help when, not if, I get stuck.

I'd bet you prefer to tent until you get the teardrop on the road.

Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll try to not become too big of a pest.

Now there's an idea! I could tow it behind the boat and ...... Heck, the possibilities are almost limitless.
