I am getting too old for tenting. My wife and I enjoy car races and such and for a long time now understand that the most fun is at the racetrack at night. We were at the bus incident at WGI. I want to be able to use my Porsche Boxster for the rallies and such , so we want to build a lightweight to tow behind the car. It will be built a a HF trailer with plywood sides as no insullation will be needed. Can anyone give me info on building the doors or point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance, Ed

Welcome. Is yours a Boxster S? What year? One of my clients is the RUF dealer for North America. I'm around Porsches a lot.

As for doors, you can make them, or buy them. I bought mine.

BTW, my build is lightweight, with 3/4 ply walls, no insulation. About 600-700 pounds. I tow it with an Audi A6 allroad.

Mine is based on the Generic Benroy, but with shelves instead of cabinets to save weight.

I have a 98 Boxster w/tip and a MO30 ROW suspension so I should not have any trouble pulling. Where did you get your doors? Also , have you seen any other Porsches pulling Tear Drops? Thanks, Ed

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

I was thinking of trying to get a tow bar installed on my Nissan 350 Z so I could pull my, almost finished being built, TD.

I got my doors on eBay. The seller goes by cks-1 on this forum.

I have not seen a Porsche towing a TD, but in our region, we have two Mini Coopers and a Miata towing TDs.
