Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Ira,
You can also try baby oil. It will get tar off of anything. I have also used it on my hands when I ran out of Fast orange or Gojo.

I know how they get olive oil but I how do they get baby oil?

Where baby oil comes from...

Postby gailkaitschuck » Fri Oct 21, 2005 11:32 am

They look for really greasy children and squeegie them down.

Sometimes they gotta squeeze them a bit and hold them over a pan to catch the drippings. It's tricky, especially with children that aren't potty trained.

Baby oil is mineral oil with perfumes added.

...and here I thought they just heated them up and put 'em in a press...all these years I have refused to use baby oil for ANYTHING, because...because...the children...think of the children   ;)

Another good suggestion, Steve. Thanks. Will try that and will also have the WD 40 on-hand.

I always have WD 40 to fix rusty, cruddy things, but you have to ask my wife why we always have baby oil:

That bathroom vanity looks like a CHEMISTRY lab down there. Dozens of bottles, tubes, sprays and gels of God knows what. I put my foot down when I saw the stuff starting to show up in my SONS' bathroom!

Ira I got to agree with your wondering about all them bottles and what they are for,,, heck a manley man could prob get by with a roll of duck tape, a can of WD-40 and a splash of old spice,,,

Regular use of the duck tape will keep all them pesky hairs pulled out,,, nice buff bikini line,,, a little WD to sooth the irritated skin and a splash of old spice to give ya that Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaawwwwwwww sensation,,
what else other than a Bud despenser do ya need in the bathroom

Ahhhh...

Chip said Old Spice.

I can just smell my dad, like he was still alive, getting himself ready for dinner at a restaurant with Mom.

That's still the coolest cologne bottle ever designed.

My mother loves to tell this story about something I did when I was about 3 or 4 years old. I smeared a huge gob of Vick's Vapor Rub on my head and and walked around the house singing "Brill Cream, a little dab'll do ya".

Careful Tom, You might just be showing your age!!! I anticipate a post from one of our younger members asking "What the heck's Brill Cream???"

I think I remember Vitalis; I'm 48:

Was that the stuff that came in a big bottle that looked like a 5th of vodka, and hardened on your hair and made it real stiff?

And the commercial used the expression, like, "No more greasy kid stuff."

Or was greasy kid stuff the name of another product?

Maybe that VITALIS will work on my goop.

Ira, I don't remember Vitalis hardening on your hair. I tried it, but it didn't do much except make it feel slick and oily. Now, Wildroot Creme Oil didn't harden either, but was so oily that it kept my hair in place (this was in the 50s and 60s). In the late 60s or early 70s, the "dry look" begain, with hair spray for men. Now, that would turn your head of hair into a hard shell. That's when the commercial about no more greasy kid stuff started. Now, I just keep my hair cut down to a half inch and to hell with all of the hair products.

Chip was right, so THANKS!

WD40 took that crap off like it was nothing! (Man, was THAT a good lesson to learn.) And Steve J, I never even tried the baby oil because the 40 worked so well. Probably should have tried it anyway to see.

And getting back to hurricanes, it looks like it IS headed for me and some others down here. So let me create a new thread since this one degenerated to hair creams and the black goop on my TD.
