Rain in the galley??

While sitting here designing my tear I was struck with a thought. How does one keep rain from streaming down the roof and into the galley when the hatch is open? I know some people use canopies but I mean if your trailer is out in the open uncovered.

..in context of the specifics of your question...ya run very fast and shut the hatch .....otherwise ya use an EZup, screen room, suv tent or a dining fly of some sort

p.s. if your are not around, you should keep the hatch shut to keep all manner of critters out

Install a 'Rain Diverter' at each end of your galley hatch hinge

How about putting a piece of duct tape over the hinge before you open the hatch?
Low tech but it could work.

This is what I used and it works great. Buy it before you build your hatch because it takes up space between the roof and the hatch. If I remember right I think it is 3/8". I also put a small peice of aluminum angle to seal the gap on the sides. Mine overhangs the side by 1/2" so any rain that is collected drips past.

what i found that help is call eze gutter. go to eze gutter. com. i used on the tear and my motorhome. you can see it in my album page 4 i think. camping world sales it in 10' lenghjt are go to rv supply and they sale in smaller lenght.

I haven't tried this yet with the hose...guess I didn't want to find out it wouldn't work...but here it is....on my woody tear....I put the rubber seal with the sticky back close to the inside edge on the walls of the tear, not on the deck lid...this gives me a conduit for water to flow off the hatch and not allow it to come into the galley....it may flow, but should be kept out of the galley by the rubber seal....and if it really comes down....just close up...I also have an ez up and the Kelty carport...which is cool as it is light enough that I can pick it up easily and move it from the side of the tear to the back if I want....Doug
