New season of This Old House...

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I was kind of upset with the timber frame house from last season.

I like this season so far. We have the TOH hour over here that has the TOH and the TOH tips show together.

Old House Journal is still around. I get it at Barnes and Noble.

This Old House also has a magazine. They sell side by side at the bookstore.

I've had a subscription to the magazine for several years now. It's a really good mag.

Haven't watched TOH in forever, but I did always enjoy it.
I like Steve Thomas's show on the green channel, I've caught that a few times recently.

TOH

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Tue Oct 27, 2009 12:15 am

8) I have been a fan of PBS and TOH, having lived in an oldie (Grandparents starter home) up until 2002. I just watched TOH the other night...the episode where the crew was taking bets as to how long the family would stay in the house while they renovated. The crew was able to use a downstairs toilet that had been closed down....the big redo was in the kitchen on that one, and the downstairs where they redid the heating and raised the overhead pipes. What a bummer that the electrician did old school wiring in the bedroom and that there was water damage in the electrical set-up. I like to watch the show cuz I always learn something, but often times I can't watch a whole episode in one sitting. TDN

I just watched a new episode, and I have to say that Kevin is really winning me over as the best TOH host. He does more work than either of his predecessors. He gets dirty, and does real work, and still does the job of eloquently hosting the show. I just watched him hoist lumber, work a nail gun, hammer nails, and do what Norm and Tommy said to do, and not say a word. He just did the work.

I am liking this season -- and liking Kevin as the host.
