I do a lot of odd jobs, mostly for the little old retired widows around here. I do not take on many jobs that a real contractor would be able to do for a reasonable price. I do the best work I can for the least money I can as the main goal of my little "business" is to help my wife pay the bills and help the old folks out with the everyday chores. Changing water filters, replacing weather stripping, that kind of thing. I did install a new microwave/range hood for a lady a couple of days ago because she wanted a microwave with a trun table, she insisted that I haul off the old one which was working fine so with that and the flat rate I charged for the install I came out of that one well paid. I once replaced an attic ladder (stair), that is one job I will never again do alone, I got it done but it is a killer for one person, even with a scafold and a block and tackle, didn't charge near enough for that one.
