Hello

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am: 46, a son to none, a husband to 1, a father to 2, a brother to 3, an uncle to 5, and a friend to many. Did a few years service in the early 80's then retired on disability with a broken wing. Went to school in Flagstaff and been counting beans for Uncle Sam (or Uncle Sugar as I call him) in DC for twenty years.

Did the boat thing for about a decade - started with a cuddy on a trailer and ended with 29 footer in the water and a serious dent in checkbook. Bought a jeep a year ago and hooked up with a great club. Enjoy going out with them, but the tent has got to go. Actually, it gone already. The last time we went out it rained like crazy and I woke up to a couple inches of water inside the tent on a flat air mattress. Just left the thing.

So, after hours and hours of dreaming and looking on the web, it's time to quit dreaming and start tripping - road that is. I have pretty much decided that a Pleasant Valley Lil Traveler and $11K is better than a Camp Inn Ultra and $0 (or a Lil Guy and $14K). Build is out of the question any time soon. Anyone have a Pleasant Valley Lil Traveler or another contender worth considering?

Hello, Uncle Michael. You've found a great forum. We're also from NoVa. If I'm not misshapen, there are some folks here with Pleasant Valley trailers who may chime in.

Thanks Bill and Marijo. Frankie and Johnny was the first movie my wife and I saw together back in 91 and still one of our favotries, so Altoona is on the list. We almost detoured there on our way to my sister's in Detroit last summer, but time would not allow. Recommend any diners or dives up there?

uncle michael,
Ah ha I see you watch diners, Drive-Inns and Dives. Our Favorite show. Yes we have a famous Diner in downtown Altoona "Tom and Joes Diner" across from the old CityHall. Been open since 1933. All the police, lawyers and local politicians hung out there. You can find all the info on it online. Great food. Really old dont think they ever updated the place . Same family still owns it. Then theres Dennys Beer Barrel Pub. Clearfield Pa. Known for their 20lb Burgers. I believe they were on the show Man Versus Food. Spikes Bar in a little town Viola about 15 min north of Altoona. Best Hot wings and sandwiches in the area. Like 20 different flavors of wing sauce..
Ill think  of some more for you and PM you.
Enjoy,
Bill and Marijo

Hi, Jan and I got our Little traveler last fall. One of the best things we have done. We really love it. It is a 5x10, gives us plenty of room. So far we have camped in 90 deg. weather and -11 deg., it is so nice to get up and not be wet, or feel muggy on the hot days. You have pick a good forum, the people here are wonderful. Have made a lot of nice friends. They also have a lot of good ideas to help you along the way. You can see our tear in my album. Hope you find a tear that fits you.

Erv

Hi to another Virginian!

You won't go wrong with the Pleasant Valley trailer. They are well built and very popular.

Hope to see you out at a gathering next year!
