Did You Count Your Trick o' Treat'ers?

Postby Russ in California » Sun Nov 01, 2009 10:47 am

We never used to count even when we first moved to this current local in 1991.
As they built more and more houses, more kids would come.
In 2000 we actually started to count.
2000: 391
2001: 297
no counting 2002-2004
2005: 603
2006: 582
2007: 746 (the record so far)
2008: 727
This year was drizzly most of the day and foggy at night. Didn't think that many would show and it did start out slow.
By the end of the night we knew it was a pretty big turnout.
2009: 722
It gets pretty crazy on the corner we live on.
Cars and people from all over the area come to this neighborhood because there's enough people with means to buy candy and tons of hoses with flat well lit streets. It's amazing.
Sooo, how did you do?

It was the most ever here. We went through almost two bags of candy. The previous years we only had a couple. It was a treat for us.

we used to live in a decent trailer court, well lit and close togather we would get maybe 100 or so, it was easy going for the little ones. here on wilson st its not as well lit and frankly there isnt alot of kids anymore.. We always prepare for 100 or so, this year it was wayyy down.
I couldnt imagine 700 plus... Uffda.

Last year - 75+

This year - 21

We were into it and had fun anyway! One kid looked in the trailer and asked if we lived there cause the economy was so bad.

Your setup looked good! I had a large amount of kids this year and lots of liittle ones...probably 150. They were so cute. Same thing happens here -- people from other neighborhoods work our neighboorhood which doesn't bother me. I just like to see their cute little costumes.

...0... the same number we have had for at least the last 10 years...there are advantages to living back where they have to pump sunlight...and you get to eat(groan) all that "extra" candy

160. We live on a busy street in a small town and I thought that was a lot! but not compared to 722! We would have had more, but ran out of candy.

I had a 10 year high of 25 . I even got the creepiest candy out there . They are chocolate beetles with a sour lime filling . In other words ticks with Lyme disease . ..... D.J.
