jesse james hidden treasure

Postby Aaron Coffee » Mon Nov 09, 2009 7:49 pm

Tonight on history channel is a show about Jesse James secret hidden loot. This got me thinking about when they opened Al Capones vault(i ditched my History of Film class to watch that). Anybody think jesses treasure is going to have the same outcome?
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.

Heck, they're most likely looking in the wrong place. It's probably under the house. But being how they have moved the house, who knows where it might be today. Did I ever tell you that my dad was born just around the corner from where Jesse James lived.

So, will they follow up on this? Keep me posted if you see it advertised.

Well it looks like they found something and it also appears that Jesse James wasn't killed in 1882 like so many think. I sure hope there is a follow up on this.

And no Doug, it's not Geraldo that's looking for Jesse's hidden treasure.

It was an interesting show. My folks in Tennessee had some connections to the James family back along the way. There was always doubt that he had been killed. Here in Utah, the people down around Bryce in southern Utah say Butch Cassidy came back from South America and lived to a ripe old age under another name. Many older folks knew him and protected his identity. Could be!

So Jim did he work as an "Avenging Angle" (squad of hit men for the Mormons when they executed the Timpanogos Indians in the salt lake valley in the 1840s 50s and 60s some hired guns others church members).

Being a non-mormon, I will not comment on the topic. However, it was a later timeframe and apparently he stayed peaceful-didn't want to blow his cover.

I live just 5 miles from Butch Cassidy's childhood home (yes, it's still there). There are a few family members who still live here and I know them well. When the subject comes up if he died in Bolivia or came home, they become suspiciously quiet ... if he did come home, he stayed away from attention of any kind for the rest of his life.

There is a story in my family that the James gang rode into the family farmstead, they sent the youngest kid to the door and told them that all they had here where kids, the James gang said they just wanted water for the horses, so the kid pointed and said the well is over there. It could be true because Jesse James was reported to have been hiding out at the Palisades, northeast of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Most outlaws lived the high life when they had the money, then robbed again. It cost money to stay hidden.... bribes, etc.

I doubt there is any 'treasure' to be found....

You didn't watch the program, did you Arne? It doesn't have to be large or a whole lot to be a treasure.
