Teardrop Show at Cabelas in Glendale AZ

Postby TheBizMan » Tue Nov 10, 2009 11:03 am

This will be a two day event. Cabelas will provide lunch each day and will give the employee discount to all who display their TD. You will need to provide your own restroom for the nite. Nov 14-15 will be a good chance to show off our TD's.

I do realize Cabela's is not a totally altruistic entity and expect sales from this BUT, it is pretty darn cool to get recognition from a commercial enterprise for our little movement to reintroduce TDs to the world at large...we must be doing something right to get this kinda recognition...  :applause: :applause: :applause:

This event is really evolveing, a couple weeks ago it was to be a one day event, a Dutch Oven cooking seminar, and a request went out for TD's, I guess DO & TD's have a way of going together, I believe a couple of members of this forum, may have a lot to do about that.

Sound like fun, looks as though this could turn into an in town gathering, I planned on attending before now I don't want to miss it, even if it is a 400 mile run to get there. (I was going to visit my daughter in Casa Grande, anyway)

*EDIT* Jim, your pics were way too big causing anyone viewing to havvta scroll back and forth just to read the text, much less view the pic...we would ask you to use a smaller sized pic(640x480) to avoid this situation...I used www.tinypic.com to resize your pic on the fly...this a really handy web based program and we(the admins) highly recommend and encourage the use of this program to resize pics which are located off site and hot linked to a post here.........thanks, madjack 8)

What a great gathering! That "log cabin" tear is a hoot. Was the "chimney" all decor or was there a function for it? How many tears were there. I bet the reactions were priceless from the shoppers. Great job. Some really unique tears there. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Sa weeeet! If my blasted house didn't flood I would've been out there with you. Your tears look awesome! I hope Cabela's make it an annual thing. (Bi-annual with the shopping discount.) 8)

Just looks, I should have taken a photo from the other side.

It got very busy and I was answering lots and lots of questions. I missed another 10 trailers in the photos.

Here you can kind of see it, the gentleman on the phone is the builder.

It is suppose to look like Lincoln Logs.

The day was great, as Jim said lots of questions, I gave out nearly 100 cards over the course of the day....as an aside for the Log Cabin Tear, this was his first time out with the tear and he was one of the few who stayed for the night, making it his first night in the Tear, Camping at Cabela's, should be a memorable weekend for the Log Cabin Tear, I'm terribly, sorry but I can not remember the builders name, but he and his family are very personable and it will be a real joy camping with them.

So apparently he is not on the forum, or at least hasn't posted. Did you'all STRONGLY encourage log cabin guy to join the family so we can see some more pics and learn about the build? 8)
