WHAT ABOUT A SLIDEOUT?

Postby shmevy » Sat Oct 24, 2009 7:10 pm

ANY IDEAS OR INFO ON A SMALL TRAILER WITH A SLIDEOUT?

I USED TO HAVE ONE. IT WAS MY GRANDFATHERS. HE BOUGHT NEW AND I INHERITED IT. WHEN IT ROTTED I TOOK IT APART. WAS NOW THINKING OF RESURECTING IT WITH A FEW CHANGES.
IT WAS BUILT ON A 4X8 TRAILER, KIND OF SQUARE, AND WAS LIKE 2 BOXES THAT SLID APART. THE TRAILER WAS THE BED AND THE OTHER HALF AFTER EXPANDING WAS A TABLE WITCH CONVERTED TO A BED
IT HAD A CANVAS FLOOR IN THE HALF THAT EXPANDED OUT, BUT I WAS THINKING IT WOULD BE COOL TWO SLEEPING AREAS FOR US AND THE KIDS.
ANY IDEAS, ANY THOUGHTS, ANYONE TRIED IT BEFORE?

Marck,
Can you share the details of how you did the slideout? I'm interested in doing this myself.

Charles and Linda (CocaColaTeardrop) have a gorgeous Td with slide out. I could not find any large pictures, but maybe I can PM them to post some for you.

Here's the "For Sale" post on the slide out by Charles and Linda. It has specs and a link of build pics.

That would be called a drawer

I considered a slide out, but don't see it being all that practical unless you have a standy or want to do lots of crawling.

How about a nose tip-forward & up for adding more space?

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
