Article did not say who the owner is, just that he was from Lufkin.

I wish I knew who it is............definately not anyone in our social circle.

Currently, looks like his social circle is limited to pelicans...and fish...

From the video, it looks like he drove it right off into the pond. Did anyone see the pelican? Was he reaching for his cell phone or his insurance papers?

BTW, I loved the "I think it's a Lambo..."

i bet the last thing expected in the world for that guy was for a video of dudes thinking that car was a lambo popping up on youtube....LMAO...

i have watched it several times....there was no pelican, no swerve, no nothing...dude just drove it straight into the water....

this is a very interesting little story...

UPDATE: Thanks to some great follow up reporting by the Galveston Daily News and their sister paper, we now know the man is Andy House of Performance Auto Sales in Lufkin, Texas. The shop, ironically, specializes in repairing wrecked exotics. We contacted House for a comment and here's what he said:

I had dropped my phone, people dont know what happened, the arnold story was made up to by the wrecker driver. What it appeared to been was a reflection.

The car was for sale, but perhaps not selling as quickly as the need for money required??????

This story could get interesting soon. I wonder if balloon boy was with him in the car when it "crashed".

That's what I saw, too. And he's probably saying worse that "oh s--t" now that he knows someone shot video of the "accident".

...how convenient, he drove into the water at the nice sloped area just a little before the guardrail started...the insurance investigators should be real interested in that video!!!!!!

oohh man, that video sure is gonna make the conversation with the insurance investigator interesting :o

this seems to fit into the "more money than good sense" catagory. I mean, it you're gonna do an insurance job on an exotic car, at least do it at night....

either that or it was the worlds record for expensive "hey watch this" thing

ya know, IF the original story is true and he was surprised by a pelican; if you don't have any better driving skills than that you shouldn't be allowed to drive anything more exotic than a Yugo...

This Bugatti is no more! It's has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet it's maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, It rests in peace! If it weren't sittin' in water, it'd be pushing up the daisies! 'It's mechanical processes are now 'istory! It's off the twig! It's s kicked the bucket. It's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-BUGATTI!!
