1964 1/2 Mustang ~ How Bad Do You Want It???

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Ah, crap. Senior moment. The 1953 Vette I shot was not #003. They all look the same, since all 53s were Polo White with red interiors. This one sold at Amelia Island for $440,000.

Incredible restoration, though.

And Speaking of Mustangs here is a picture of mine. Rare 65 mustang GT with A code 289 HiPo motor...

Was it the 200, 225 or 271 HP version of the HiPo 289?

Gentlemen, I realize this is simply a trailer forum, but to clarify the list of 289 cubic inch V8 engine offerings in '65 and '66 Mustangs, the only "High Performance", or, "HiPo" 289 offered was the solid-lifter, 10.5:1 K-code motor. That unique engine also featured short-primaried cast-iron headers and a beefy crank harmonic damper. The block and crank were cast from higher-nickel content iron and the distributor was a dual-point.

If I can recall correctly, the other two 289s were the hydraulic lifter, 4-barrel 10:1 225 horse A-code and the 9.5:1 2-barrel 210 horse C-code.

:pipe:

That's a great pic, Casey. That man's longevity under the circumstances is nothing short of incredible.

My reference books show something different, but that is the nature of 1960s cars. Back then, the marketing departments published specs that engineers never heard before reading them in the advertising.

By today's strict SAE standards, all of those old car HP claims were "optimistic."

But all records are made to be broken. (Like I said, these kind of numbers do happen)

One of six 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupes set a record at the Mecum Auction today in Monterey, California, fetching a bid of $7.25 million. The price is the highest amount ever paid for an American car at auction. Mecum’s auction took place at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort & Spa on the Del Monte Golf Course, just one of many such auctions occurring around the Pebble Beach Concurs d’Elegance.

Forgetting the car for a moment, This guy has no record on ebay at all.

Says he started Oct. 30, 09, looks like, from the ones you can see all he has sold is books (for under $1.00)

That's a big leap from $1 to $5.5 mill.

I'd be a little cautious to buy anything from him/her.

I agree 100% I've always wanted a P-51 :D

Move decimal 3 spots and you can have mine.
It's Sept '64 build with a new 300hp 302 and AOD.

Just kiddin', I wouldn't really sell it anyway. It's too much fun.

Although, I would consider a trade for the Daytona Coupe. :)
