Waffle Shortage

Postby Toytaco2 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 5:46 pm

For all those people I know who were asking me why in the world I needed a CI waffle iron, take this:

http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/108191/leggo-your-eggo-theres-a-waffle-shortage

There won't be any shortages around my house (or camp).

I recently bought a CI waffle iron for my teardrop. Although I am presently experimenting with it on the stove in the house, I plan to use it on my Coleman propane stove when camping-plenty of waffles from that Krusteaz mix. Also, I bought a Lodge 8" camp Dutch Oven to try a couple of recipes. These are my first attempts into the Cast Iron world-we'll see how it goes.

My Harris-Teeter had a sign about the Eggo situation on the frozen food case.

Fortunately, I'm not a fan and have no problem letting go of an Eggo.

I have a fresh box in my freezer. Let's start the bidding at twenty dollars -- plus shipping, of course. 8)

Hello Randy-yes, I saw that thread. It looked like the waffle-burger was a good idea. Even on the kitchen stove, I am still trying to get the mix and temp right. It is not as easy as you guys made it look at the Glyphs. The waffle was talking to me, I just didn't understand what it said.

perhaps a poor choice of words to use "poison" in reference to any Eggo waffle discussion.... Good luck on your marketing efforts CD! I guess you could ship them and advertise that they are "pre-thawed". I was at Costco today...they had a freezer full!!! I was sort of expecting them to not have any....like the Coke products that they didn't have, a whole 'nother thing however....Maybe I too should invest in Eggo Waffle futures....Doug

Just be sure to get out before the Eggo bubble bursts. That could be messy.

We had fun making them in Austin this fall. Next gathering you can join the waffle making crew.

Hey when you sell them are you going to disclose what factory they were made at? The one that flooded or the one shut down due to filth?
