BBC America Space Shows...

Postby caseydog » Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:54 pm

I just watched the BBC show "James May on the Moon, and loved it. James May is a presenter on the BBC Show, Top Gear. He did a fantastic show on the Apollo Mission, culminating in a trip in the U2 aircraft to what was once the edge of space...

Watch it if you can.

Next week, they have a show called, "Being Neil Armstrong." I definitely plan to watch that...

Thanks for the heads up.

I am fascinated by aerospace development and it's resulting high (sic) performance... and to have one of the three hosts of some of my favorite television is a bonus.

One of my clients from the UK mentioned the show. Now I really need to see it!

James may is presenting a show at the moment over here trying to get todays computer kids into old toys in a BIG way

So far he has built a full size spitfire plastic kit, a garden for the Chelsea flower show entirely out of plasticine modelling clay. A full size house made from Lego. A working opening bridge across the Leeds to Liverpool canal out of Meccano. The best by far is the longest Scalextric slot car racing track in the world, 3 miles long around the Goodwood race track. (the worlds first purpose built racing circuit) it would have been easier if they hadent built houses and industrial buildings where most of the circuit was, the ingenious ways they crossed the modern obstacles is pure genious.

see the first 4 episodes here http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search/?q= ... %20Stories

I have heard of that show, but we don't get it on BBCA. I hear he had a world record going for the longest toy train, but some vandals messed it up.
