Greetings from Southern California!

So my wife and I really want to start camping more, and we want to put our Ford Escape to use as well. I was talking with someone at work that we'd like to get something to pull with our Escape that wasn't too big and he mentioned a teardrop trailer. My wife has always been in love with Airstreams, but after showing her pictures of teardrops she's thinking their the next best thing, especially since it's much closer to our price range.

We are in Southern California and there doesn't really appear to be much of a market here for the teardrops at this time. I've located a couple dealers, "So-Cal Teardrops" and "Little Guy Trailers" that are within a 100 miles of us, so we might go check them out. Unfortunately there really isn't much used market, I was really hoping to find a used one in good shape that we could get cheap (especially with Christmas coming the economy, I thought I could gain on someones need to sale) but I haven't found much of anything yet.

Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself.

Yeah I've seen some of those online, but most of them are in NorCal, which is most of a days drive away.

Hello Dan, your going to be hard pressed to find a cheap teardrop here in SoCal. But if you have patience, they are out there. Like that it's just a mater of finding it. SoCal Teardrops and Lil Guy Teardrops are two different teardrops. The thing about SoCal is they are local and Gabe is a member of this board.

The link to the 'Tales & Trails Classifieds' is as follows:

NOTE: Lil' Bear and Tales & Trails are one of the same.

Hi Dan, Welcome from another So Cal teardropper who has been involved in the "Game" for about 6 years. Is there any chance that you might consider actually building a teardrop? It's really not that hard or complicated, many have done it, even teenage girls. However if you lack the time, place and tools, picking up a useable one might be the best answer. If you are ever out in the Corona/Temecula area, give me a hollar, and we can share a cup of coffee and talk good-ol-SoCalif teardrop lingo. Send me a pm if you are interested. Good luck in your efforts and hope you consider joining our friendly group here in the southland, and I look forward to sharing camping tales with you in the future.

Actually we might end up building one, I know it's a lot less expensive that way, plus I like building things. Just most of our time is being spent working on our house since we've only been in it in for 9 months! :) But the thought has crossed my mind that building could really be an option.
