Husband Harry & I bought a new 5x8 teardrop in 2007. We've used it traveling more than one-spot camping, and have gone coast to coast & spent >80 nights in our little silver sleeping cocoon. We cook & bake from scratch out of the TD galley, using cast iron grill & dutch oven. Harry flyfishes, and we both like to visit natural places where we can hike, birdwatch, take photographs, and paint w/ watercolors. We live in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains of California.

I've spent many hours looking at everybody else's teardrop photos online, thanks to all of you I have an unshakeable case of cabinetry envy.

Linda

Cabinet envy, can come upon you at the most unexpected times, We had our little Cubby at a Tear drop show just a week ago, after camping in it for nearly two years, but right behind us was another great looking tear with an unusual drawer layout and on our way home Karen say's to me can you do that before we head out again....?
Well she who must be obeyed asked so now a good bit of demolition and a few board feet of red oak and a sheet of copper and she will be happy again, until the next gathering anyway.

Hey this why they are so much fun, they are never finished

Welcome Linda/ Harry. You don't need to go far to camp out there in Quincy, it's beautiful country up there!
But we still need to see the pics!
If it itches. scratch it

Welcome aboard Linda. You must plan on going to the Dam Gathering April 29th at Lake Shasta. Meet some of us crazies that are here on the board.

I can tell Al, your wife hasn't seen my slide out galley or pantry. You'll be working all year on just the galley. ;)

TD photos on Facebook

Postby Blumie » Tue Nov 24, 2009 12:16 pm

I'll have to do some work to figure out how to resize my photos in iPhoto & transmit them from my Mac... meanwhile I have quite a few posted on Facebook at the following links accessible to anyone:
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=7 ... eef57bf547

We did not build our trailer, but rather bought it new from Missouri Teardrops. We've been very cautious about making alterations, especially about puncturing the aluminum skin up here in snow country, where the integrity of the seals is paramount. Also, because we've used the TD in a variety of situations, we're still adjusting gear. (When you absolutely positively have to put all food & scented items in bear lockers, the most ship-shape galley cabinet will do you little good!)

Hey Linda,

Welcome to the forum! Keep the posts coming. And if you feel really brave, try adding a photo to your album. It's easy. Here's the instructions...

Welcome to the group! I see by your album we go to some of the same places. Nice to have so many great campgrounds so close. Might see you folks around some time, we're just over the line, north of Reno.

Wow, I had no idea there are so many T&TTT members nearby! Thanks for all the messages. We know of three other teardrop families around here; maybe we'll get them involved here -- especially the guy who's rebuilding a 1953 TD and might need some advice from other builders!
