We'll finally we've done it we've bought our very own Teardrop. After seeing the trailers advertised on Trade Me (New Zealand's homegrown e-bay) My partner and I drove the 280km South the the home of the builder to have a look see. After a quick test tow we decided and shook on the deal, Our own Brand new Teardrop trailer built by Grouse of Whakatane New Zealand. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... 1159851044

Sweet! Congrats, that's going to be a blast for camping.

I spent a month in New Zealand and absolutely loved it. Breathtaking beauty. It's the one country I'd leave America for in a heartbeat.

Do you have a favorite campground there? Will you mostly camp on the South or North Island?

PyOtr in nice to see another kiwi on board.

There are a few of us. Once there was even another tear in the camp ground

You might get used to the questions eventually.

Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome.

I've been camping almost all my life, first as a cub scout then a scout, Rover and later a Scoutmaster and on numerous school camps (I'm a teacher). My partner however thinks roughing it means that the room service stops delivering at 10pm.

I think we'll cope just fine though :D

I don't have any other picture yet as I have yet to pay the gent and collect the trailer, thats set for 13 December. I can'y wait :applause:

I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

I wondered what everyone does for additional space? We are seriously looking at a 6X3m collapsibile gazebo with sides??

Chat to you all soon

most use some type of screen tent, though some also have 'rooms' that attach directly to the t/d, via a marine type C channel.

Side tent

Postby Py0tr » Thu Dec 03, 2009 5:07 am

Thanks

We paid for the trailer today so i suppose that makes it ours! :D

I'm counting the days till I can bring it home.

I had my first stupid (?) question tonight.... If it's so small how can you stand up inside? and the second where will you put all your clothes?
My answer... Since I'll be holidaying at a nudist resort I'll leave them at home..stunned silence :applause:

Great reply! Be sure you have enough sunscreen. You would not want to sunburn a wit like that.

I love the profile on your tear. Great purchase and welcome to the forum.
