Placement of WFCO 8725

Postby CarlS » Thu Dec 10, 2009 8:07 pm

I'm planning on a battery in my front field/tongue box. I was planning on my convertor ( WFCO 8725)going there as well, but upon seeing that it has two 110 volt breakers, I'm thinking it should go back in the galley with all the wiring terminals. I've run a 110 line back to the galley(I'm planning on a shore power plug in the field box). It seems as though I would want the breakers at the end of that line so as to split it via the breakers. Would I then run a 10 ga wire back up to the battery for charging? Or, should I leave the convertor up with the battery and run an additional 110 line to the galley for my two 110 runs?

If I had to do it all over again, I'd design mine like Bill "Wlooper89's" setup, I think its pretty slick.

Mine is wired with the convertor at the rear and yes, I ran 10g wire(s) to the battery at the front (and back). I guess its really all about preference, because you have a long run of wires one direction or the other, I just liked the tidiness of all the "working paraphernelia" in a tongue-box on the front.

The battery and Progressive Dynamics power center are all going in the rear of our new Mega-Mini. I want the tongue box open to hold all of the stuff that Nancy doesn't want in the galley. This also simplifies wiring as the shore power inlet comes in at the rear. This means that there is only a 10 gauge wire coming from the trailer plug/connector.

Just to be different, I placed my battery in the tongue box and my power center in the galley.
