Newbie from Missouri

Postby bpb165 » Mon Dec 07, 2009 10:58 pm

Hello, I was introduced to this awesome forum when I was trying to sell my teardrop last summer. Well to make a long story short, I finally did sell it, a really nice Silver Shadow to a great couple from O'Fallon. I kicked around the ideal of building another, this will be my third build, my first one went to my brother, the second was an assist for my neighbor, this one will be lessons learned, and gained from this outstanding community. I have yet to come across, maybe I haven't searched hard enough, of anyone building a reversed teardrop. Anyway, I will shiver my way through our fine winter here building it and will keep the progress pictures posted...........

Welcome aboard. There are pics of a reversed teardrop, somewhere on this forum and I'm sure some well informed member will show you a pic of it. Good luck on your build, and say hello to Auntie M, there in MO.

Here is my bass-ackwards Jim Dandy TD that I built.

As far as I know, Mark72 and I are the only ones who dared to build a Jim Dandy. Rob Fisher in Idaho has one that was built in the 40's or 50's and that's the only other one I've ever seen besides ours.

The one I built now belongs to a great couple that resides in Minden, NE.......

Nice camper, I am thinking of a copy of the LittleGuy r/t. Got my idea on paper, and in my head. I am not adding a galley so there will be a little more room on the interior and some storage area in the front for my canopy, and other treasures. My buddies, who also have homebuilts, and I are concidering a small trailer/kitchen to pull behind that may include a generator for their a/c units. That might get them out more. LOL

Is there a reason for the reverse? Seems putting your feet under the galley makes for a smaller lighter TD while still being able to sit up in bed.

My reason for the reverse is to have something different is all. The door will be at the rear of the camper, the bed will be reverse from normal as well. I don't plan on having a galley in this unit.

In Chubby we sleep feet to the tongue. In the barn we sleep feet to the rear which one of these is " NORMAL "

NO GALLEY !!

I snuck a mini one in the barn. By just installing a drop down cabinet on the rear door will come in handy
