We decided that the first trip should be somehwre reasonably close by and just for one night. Both good ideas!
We took the notebook along to list all the things we needed and had forgotten, despite my careful reading of all the advice given here on the forum.
Our pop up gazebo worked really well and the three walls were windproof and gave us excellent privacy from the one lowpoint of the trip... An older guy who was sited next to us at the campground and who spent 99% of his time staring at us. He would even walk around the back of our site and stare into the enclosed awning!
I know our teardrop is somewhat different, (we had a really neat couple come up and have a great look. They copied down the contat details for the builder too!) and I suppose that two guys camping together is a bit different too, but this is the 21st century and he was being exceptionally rude.
The stalker aside we had a great time. The only things we decided we needed were a second table, a washing up bucket/bowl and a small dustbin to catch the scraps and trash which seems to accumulate as soon as I start cooking.
The sleeping arrangements were ok too although Greg at 6 foot did need to sleep diagonally and this had me a bit squashed as we'd brought far too many pillows, blankets and duvets and the cabin was a bit crowded.
Our trailer has two vents each side a slotted chrome vent in front of the door and a oval vent behind the door and at the highest point of the roof. The resulting airflow was great as the heat we made rose and escaped out of the top side vents cool air was drawn into the lower chrome vents making a good fresh air circulation possible and stopping us from getting too hot. Does anyone else have low level air vents like this? I've seen doors with windows and roof vents with fans but not a double vent arrangement like we have.
Pack up took only 10 minutes and we made our way home very satisfied with both our trailer and the quick break.
