Ok holidays and weather has slowed my build to a halt.
But it's left me lots of time to think and as I build with no plans it helps to do a lot of that

I'm planning on pulling the Tiny Grumman (for lack of a better name) to New york in May. Normally the Tear will be used for the boys so galley is of no need. I plan on a half galley (midway up) for when I use it. it will have a counter about 1' deep by 40" wide with a pass through cabinet with sliding doors that can be opened from either side.

OK so on with my thoughts I was thinking so were could I put pans and silverware while in route. So my thought is to make the entire counter flip up to reveal a 3" deep hidden well to put a couple skillets and some silverware in when I travel alone.
So I know this will not be handy when in use to get to the stuff but I can store my few forks and such on the counter and pans in a small tub or something when I arrive. Ok so as I type this I think why not just transport the items in a tub. maybe if I split the lid in 2 one side could be opened without moving my pop-tart toaster (that was for you Bob )

Scott, why not do a double sided drawer? You probably won't find sliders to allow the drawer to slide both directions, but you could do it old school on wooden rails.

Started to bed an hour ago and all I could do was think how I would store this stuff if all I had was a 12" x 48" x 3-4" deep drawer.

Got up and googled picnic baskets. all the plates cups and silverware is stored on the lid ready to grab. What if you did the same lift the counter top and everything was mounted under it. It will actually become the backsplash and the "counter top" is the bottom of the recess resembling a dry sink. The front lip can be fitted with butler tray hinges to let it flip down giving you a bit more counter space.

Thin wall pvc could be mounted to the underside of the lid to contain many items such as silverware , cooking utinsels, and small drinking cups. A couple plates and shallow soup bowls could nest in a medium size skillet placed on the bottom counter and the pvc tubes mounted to the lid would keep it in place when closed. The best part when open everything is within easy reach

Thank you all didn't do much today, fighting a little back pain so I'm moving slow.
I did build tiny saw horses to raise it off the floor to the same height it will be when I put the trailer under it. So I could get a good feel of where to put the counter at for comfortable use.

I know sounds silly but it made since to me

Wall thickness so far is 3/8" middle and a sheet of paneling however thick that is. When I put on the outside I'll make it as thin as possible also 1/4" probably

Floor as you see it is 3/8"ply framed around the edge with a hollow core of 1/4" insulation. and 3/8"Ply. I tore of 1 of the plys cause it warped and I could not get it to bend flat. When I removed the 1 layer it was able to be bent flat to attach it to the side. When I get it all framed I'll roll it over on it's top and put a second piece on, I'll probably go with the cheapest paneling I can buy to keep it light as it will be down and black goo'd to protect it it won't matter about the looks as long as it's light.

Floor dimension is 40"x6"

Got the camper up on it's makeshift sawhorse/Trailer so I can get an idea where to put the counter and the feel of the height.

I was cleaning in the garage and look what I found
OK I knew it was there just haven't worked on it in forever, last year wasn't a good back year to be building. The last post was when my back went south so it's time to get it underway again.
Had to go back to pg 6 just to find the thread.

I promise some progress picks. I started putting wheels on my tiny saw horses today so that I could move it out easy to work on it.
