Thanks for the kudo's! We are not going to camp next weekend, getting too cold and it really isn't ready yet. But, Davidson River is less than 30minutes away so I want to pull it over to the park to show it to folks, such that it is, in its unfinished state...

Hi, Al:

Something like a trailer always seems to take longer than we expect it will but yours is looking great and you'll have 'er done in time for good weather camp-outs next spring!

Hey Sharon,

The next camp season is definitely the goal at this point. I know time takes time (time = things we must earn). Still, making steady progress all the time now, so confident that it will eventually be finished...

The picture for the Avatar was taken at the Craggy Gardens Visitor Center, at high elevations on the Blue Ridge Parkway, when we went looking at Autumn leaves couple of weeks ago! It was a really nice day.

Pix from Davidson River

Postby Alfred » Sat Oct 31, 2009 3:15 pm

Hey Gang,

A little off topic for the build, but I spent the afternoon doing TD "research", drove over to Davidson River today for the gathering about 45minutes from Asheville, it was rainy so I wasn't able to take my yet-to-be sealed/waterproofed camper for this trip.

Still, met up with some folks having a good time, despite the wet weather, and willing to give me some TD tours.

It was nice to meet up with some folks, even if it was rainy, and talk about teardrops and camping!

Postby Alfred » Sat Nov 21, 2009 6:17 pm

Hey Gang,

My friend David from the T&TTT forum came over this afternoon, and I was able to work on the camper for a few hours, first time in a few weeks...

Worked on the back hatch today, wanted to get the hinge on, but ran out of time. Still, it is coming along...

Here I am with one of my little helpers...

Birthday and Build Progress

Postby Alfred » Sat Jan 09, 2010 9:44 pm

Hey Gang,

Today was my 45th birthday, and was able to spend a few hours this afternoon working on the camper with my friend David from the T&TTT list. This was the first time I have been able to work on the camper since the start of the holidays. A very nice way to spend one's birthday!

We got the front interior shelf installed and the wiring in place. Check out the reading lights!

Afterwards, had a small birthday party with friends and family. Sweet Wife baked a German Chocolate Cake and the kids made me a home-made card. Very aware of many blessings in my life, and all in all a very nice day!

Hey Mike,

Yes, I believe Davidson River is a great place for trout fishing, although I did not have an opportunity to drop a line in, that trip...

There is actually a trout hatchery in the Pisgah National Forest, which I believe may feed into Davidson River...
