The Interior gets 1/4"birch ply, and you can see the sunroof , a $20 purchase at the pick and pull, temp fitted in place.

Here's Greg(master carpenter by the way) working on the ply for the rear of the upper shelf-

We removed the top and altered the top of a 12v Colman 40qt cooler which gets under-mounted under the walnut upper counter.

I know , its painful, such a hole cut in such a nice piece of wood - but I'm using the cut out section as the new lid.

I used some stainless L that was lying around the shop , amongst hundreds of other treasures for the teardrop builder, to under-mount the cooler.

The lid will get joined and finished with a center handle, which will lift off, not hinge, allowing access to the cooler from inside the trailer while the galley lid is shut.

Oh that's me, with a custom sanding block that my father made over 40 years ago - I just replaced the original piece of sandpaper on it.

Looking at your shop/garage set up, your Dad must have taught you the fine wood working details that you have put in your tear. (and the patience) That is going to be one fine looking tear. If you ever get down to Va. Beach, or I get up your way, I really want to see that.

Absolutely facinating! Great job so far! Are you going to make cubbies in the fender wells accessible from inside? Looks like a great place to store shoes, magazines, etc.

I am dying to see the door. It wouldn't match your Volvo, but this baby screams out for a gull-wing!

Gullwings would be amazing.
I was so teasing with the idea of the gullwings- but I just thought , and this would be in the case of most people , not just those over 6' tall (6'8"(and your planning on traveling in a teardrop? (custom, built by me for me(and dog)))) How many times am I going to crack my head on that thing??
You should see what I have planned for the inner door trim - yes padding.

oh and the door, Its actually the reverse shape of the rear Volvo door- and it will get the Volvo handle as well.

I understand completely! I'm 6'4", and if I park mine where I have to raise the front of the trailer to level it, the hatch lid gets lower than the head lid. Those two lids have connected more than once!

I made the galley lid with a good 7' of clearance - and the cabin floor is just under 8' - plenty of leg room -
