measurement specs on the HF model 93747

Postby d_lairson » Fri Jan 22, 2010 10:39 am

I'm thinking of using this trailer for my build but I'm trying to find some info on some of the measurements and I cannot find them on the forum (although I am a very bad at using the search).
What I'm trying to find out is the deck height and the position of the wheels. I'm trying to find exactly how high the lowest part of the teardrop will be, and where the wheels will fall so I can plan a hatch for the propane.

Thanks!

I believe that 5x8 is the same as a 4x8 in the height respect. And I have a model of the 4x8.

I'll give you any dimensions you want... except for the width and the length...

Here is the height I think you wanted. Sorry about the wide pic. I hope I made up for it in making it really short!!!

As for the wheel location, you will probably have to move them. Most trailers have the wheels too far forward for a teardrop. But moving them is easy. Drill a couple holes, and drop a bolt in!

Here's a PDF of the trailer that you can spin around if you like...

Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for. My wife is on the small side (4'11'') and we want to make sure the galley counter top is at a good height for her.

As for the wheel issue, I figured that I would have to move the wheels, i'm just trying to decide where to put them. I wanted to make sure I can get a 11lb propane tank in, although I've been thinking of putting it on the tongue, but as for that I'm worried about tongue weight issues.

Ugh, this design process is a killer....
