Cars damaged

Postby emiller » Thu Jan 21, 2010 11:19 pm

A few cars where damaged do to the weather at the Russo Steele auction when two large tents blew down. The Russo auction is almost directly across from Barrett Jackson auction. Everyone has been evacuated from the auction at Russo Steele with steel poles smashing cars whipping in the rain and wind. The news showed many cars out in the weather some with there tops down.

oh man, I can only imagine the mess that must be. Even without a bunch of classic expensive iron under it all. A car owners nightmare.

I live right down the street. Serious serious wind. I have 12 tall palm trees and I am amazed that they don't just snap in these winds.

This is certainly one incredible stretch of weather we're getting for Phoenix. I hope we get lots of snow pack up in high country for our reservoirs.

I understand that at least one of the goons behind that operation is a real scumbag.

I only quote you here, Scott, to wonder if anyone behind that fine used-car organization bothered to note the Severe Weather Bulletins published online by the Nat'l Weather Service...

Indeed! and for the next three or four winters...

All the ones I've seen after hurricanes just pop out of the ground because the ground was so wet. We've pushed them back to vertical and they were good as new.

Man that wind was something else, huh! We get that during the monsoon, but never all night long!

I heard this morning that Lake Pleasant has an extra 13 feet of water in it now!
God Bless

Check out the video in this article. It gives you an idea of the weather.

Yeah, that Russo and Steele auction has one main tent where the auction happens, with a center "stage" and bleachers around it.

The other tents are long, long tents with no sides where the cars are lined up until it is there turn to go through the auction tent, and again after they do their turn on the stage.

I have been to that auction in rainy weather, and the surrounding lot becomes a red, sandy mud mess.

Those open sided tents could easily become a problem in high winds. I imagine that is where all the damage is.

Hello Hagerty? Um, I have a claim. :(

As a bus lover and driver, this hurts to look at. High winds and heavy rain took him out. More damage was done by the towtruck operator than the weather.
