Props to Camp-Inn for manufacturing gas powered wheelchair

Postby tearhead » Fri Jan 29, 2010 11:12 pm

I noticed an article in Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel this week. Headline: Camper Manufacturer Powers Chairs with Gasoline Engines for Use Outdoors. I saw the company was in Necedah and read on--sure enough, it was Camp-Inn. They made the paper for creating a kit that can be used to make a wheelchair road-worthy by adding a motorcycle engine. Here's the link:

Congratulations! :applause:

Just picked up a p.m. that the link wasn't working but checked it myself and it was working. Not sure what's up with that!

The link is working fine Pat.

Nice concept. But there are already a lot of motorized wheelchairs/scooters out there...most electric. Not as green as electric but I see where they could have an advantage out in the boonies.

That's great!

As the Father of a Daughter born with a spinal cord related disability, I appreciate anything that makes life more accessible for the physically disabled.

Thanks for sharing the info!

Al,

Get some big tires and a kit for your daughter, and she'll be Queen of the beach!
I think a LOT of people could make use of the modification.
The freedom it would give to so many...

The only thing is, she loves speed - She likes to get at the top of a ramp, at the mall or wherever and go freewheeling down at full throttle - She would fully utilize the 25mph capability - And that's scary! (LOL)

Now this is something you just gotta see. A few months ago, while my brother and I visted their production facility, Cary and Craig demonstrated their new creation for us. Wow, wheelies all over the shop and spinning turns, what a hoot. If you know anyone that could use one of these fun machines, turn them on to this article. I can just imagine many active disabled guys and gals, enjoying a whole lot more of the out of doors again.
