Win-Win or Lose-Lose for Archie Manning?

Postby caseydog » Tue Jan 26, 2010 11:14 pm

Archie Manning was an incredible quarterback when I was a young football fan, but he never had a team good enough to take him to the top.

Today, he still lives in New Orleans, and is a diehard Saints fan. But ------ the Saints are playing one of his son's teams in the Super Bowl.

Wow! What a choice.

He says he's with his son 100 percent. But, if the Colts lose, he can see his Saints win a Super Bowl after decades of being the whipping boy of the NFL (well, them and Detroit).

Can you imagine being in that position?

What would be going through your head about now?

The boys will have other chances. Payton's been to the SB more than once, IIRC, and has a ring. Eli's been and has a ring. If the Saints win, it's gravy!

I should be too old to hold a grudge, but the way Archie and Eli treated the San Diego Chargers should have cost Eli his right to play for 5 years IMHO. I just can't watch the guy.

Win or lose.

Win or lose, the Saints have nothing to feel bad about. This has been a season for firsts for them. I'm a Colts fan but the the Saints seem to be the sentimental favorites. I don't really care who wins, I just want a good game. :applause:
Have a great day and hoping the weather is great no matter where you are!!!
