Lifes REAL mysteries

Postby mk10108 » Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:21 am

Sitting in my living room goggling stuff about the Large Hadron Collider and described as the largest most costly (9 billion) science experiment in human history.

"Physicists hope that the Large Hadron Collider will help answer the most fundamental questions in physics, questions concerning the basic laws governing the interactions and forces among the elementary objects, the deep structure of space and time, especially regarding the intersection of quantum mechanics and general relativity, where current theories and knowledge are unclear or break down altogether".

That's all well and good, however what I REALLY want to know is why after entering my home at a normal walking pace of 2.5 miles per hour, with a 20 count Hot Wheels car set for the kids and within moments of the hand off, does four of them disappear? How is it possible two of the most destructive forces on earth (that would be the 19 month old twins) could, in the middle of a room and no "black hole" furniture nearby, make them disappear?

Absolutely boggles the mind.

The Large Hadron Collider is simply awesome. I remember reading about this just as "they" were talking about firing it up.

But to answer your REAL question, "they ate them".

That is all. Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Or, they're stuffed into the couch cushions... or flushed down the toilet... or...

Forget that. I just want to know why I buy 10 new pairs of socks every year, and end every year with 10 individual socks with no match.

personally I'd like to know how to plug the black hole my tax dollars fall into.. every year they ask for more, always saying they don't have enough. it's gotten to the point where the whole country is going to get sucked in.

The Hot Wheels may have been taken by the mysterious dark force. It causes some metal objects to vaporize and condense elsewhere as wire coat hangers.

Did you every drive down the road and see a sock in the gutter? That's one that didn't make it.

Until a neighbor supplied the answer, I used to wonder why, when planting bushes, there was never enough dirt to fill up the holes, even though each bush itslef took up a good bit of space. He asked if I'd ever noticed that, when digging the next hole, that no matter how thoroughly you dig it out, more dirt keeps appearing in the bottom. That's where the missing dirt goes, he said. Oh.

Ah but one MUST purchase the same stitch pattern and in sufficient quantity as not to interrupt the the sock-space time continuum

Never noticed a sock, but I notice an awful lot of lonely single shoes on the highway. What the heck is that about?
