As income tax time approaches, did you ever notice: When you put the two words 'The' and 'IRS' together, it spells
'THEIRS'

Mexico has low taxes. That's probably why so many millions of Americans are sneaking into Mexico illegally. Really, I'll come over and help you pack.

It is the people that never worked and do not want to work that gets my dander up. I have a idea lets move them to Mexico and let those who want to better themselves by working move on in. A new movement could be started DEADBEATS FOR WORKERS. Heck the deadbeats may like it they would be closer to there drugs and will not have to steel my stuff to support there habit.

Yup. It's all a trade off, and a lot has to do with where and how you are raised. An average Joe from Texas might find Denmark overbearing, but if you are born and raised in Denmark, the benefits of that society seem to outweigh the things that we see as negatives.
And, having been pushed to the brink of bankruptcy by cancer, I can see how Scandinavians might not mind their higher taxes in exchange for all the safety nets they have.
I would think that taxes are a lot easier to live with, if you feel like you are getting something of equal value in return.
I pay more in property taxes than in income taxes, and my local school district spent seven million on a sports complex, and pays the head high school football coaches more than it pays any of it's teachers. That's a good example of paying taxes and not getting equal value in return.

And how many children do you have in the school district? ( I know the answer - Just be rhetorical) Kinda makes it it unfair that "renters" in the complex who have children who attend public school for free, pay no taxes, while the rest of the homeowners and landowners are saddled with the responsibility of the tax burden. I would certainly be in favor of a state wide sales tax for education - that way everyone pays!
