For a $1000, nope, to much missing. It would cost you a life savings to restore it correctly. Just another California Dreamer. :?

True, but it is a rare find, and the current bidding is only $225. I found where it was listed at $1,500 on Feb 5, so the price is moving in the right direction.

This is what it's supposed to look like.

Here are a couple pictures of Airfloats I shot a couple weeks ago. There is a third one, that is being painted and final touch ups done. Looks great!

I like the looks of this one!

I wonder what value those two diagonal bars coming up from the tongue provide?

I was wondering the same thing.
From the looks of the tongue size(on this one) it would be for rigidity. I would thing the bracing was an after-thought to prevent tongue flex.

They have it on the larger one too. Kind of a trademark design? On the larger one, you can see where it has flexed enough to damage the skin.

Here is another Airfloat. I took this picture about a year ago, and will get the updated picture of final paint job.

Image

Gage will you get out the way, we can't see the entire Airfloat!

Here is the interior shot.

Where all trailers built on 7th street in Los Angeles, CA in the ol days. Sure seams like it. I used to work at 7th and San Pedro and never saw any remnants of trailer factories. Of course I wasn't looking for trailers back then either.
